Legal Analyst/Paralegal

 

Obra Capital is seeking a Legal Analyst to join our growing team in the New York office. This position will be responsible for supporting the Legal and Compliance team. The department offers the opportunity to gain legal assistant experience while working with an innovative and collaborate team. This position will play an integral part in the Legal and Compliance Department, functioning in both an administrative/operational role and paralegal. The ideal candidate is a professional who can think quickly on their feet, excel in a fast-paced, demanding environment, can prioritize and multi-task efficiently, and has the ability to create relationships across the organization. The ideal candidate will have an ability to provide clear project status updates and complete work with precision in a timely fashion.

BELOW ARE A LIST OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Responsibilities:

• Maintenance of communication internally and externally 

• Organize and maintain books and records, client materials and attorney work product, including litigation discovery assistance and performing legal research 

• Under the supervision of an attorney, assist in preparation of legal documentation and routine or special board or other corporate items 

• Preparation and filing of certificates of formation, tax filings (SS-4s, 8832s, etc.), registrations and account opening documentation 

• Coordination and distribution of signatures and closing sets 

• Maintenance of checklists and chronological records of project activity, coordination with colleagues and external parties and similar project management responsibilities 

• Track various legal processes (non-disclosure agreements, vendor contacts, etc.), and manage process workflow 

• Liaise with various departments to facilitate organization and payment of invoices 

• Schedule and coordinate meetings and calls, including preparing materials and circulating summaries 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in paralegal studies or similar/complementary paralegal training and certification

• At least 3 years’ experience in a law firm or supporting a legal group within a financial services firm 

• Strong written and analytical skills; ability to communicate detailed and complex information to others 

• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and be responsive 

• Excellent organizational skills; detail orientated 

• Ability to excel under time pressure and with competing priorities, & strong time management skills 

• Must be teamwork orientated and be able to work independently with minimal guidance

 

Salary range is $80,000-$100,000 Salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role.
